Jack Montana was born in 1964, in SF with his parents, Angelica and Mark. He grew up in Downtown SF, and always loved playing "Cops & Robbers". As a child he loved the media too along with crime stories. His father was a criminal who had been caught out and had been working in community service since Ashley was four. His mother however, was a librarian; he was brought up in a rather poor family. Ashley was raised in SF but in 1981 he moved to LV to continue his studies in Greenglass College. He was originally training to be a doctor but after poor results in his exams he went into his backup plan of becoming a Police officer.
 
However, he met problems on the way. As a low class labouring boy he was extremely unhealthy and was not given any physical education meaning he was extremely unfit and was unable to qualify for the police force, as well as this he already had a bad reputation passed on to him from his father.

He was running out of cash and he needed a job, he needed it quick. As a temporary source of income he started working in the 24/7 at the Checkouts. In the meanwhile he also started visiting LV Gym and began to reshape his appearance.

In 1986 he faced more problems, just two years after being neglected from the Police force and starting his job at checkouts he was sent a letter from the Government saying he had been caught cheating the benefit system, for his ambition of become a police officer this was not a good move. He was sentenced to 6 months in Prison as well as paying all the benefits that had been paid to him with an extra 10% of cash. Those were probably Ashley?s worst 6 months of his entire life.

A criminal record was not good for his job as a police officer but, he did not give up hope he resumed his work in the local 24/7 and started his own business from home as a Car Rental, he made huge amounts of profit from this and was soon able to purchase his own property in Mulholland, LS. Los Santos was a long way away from his job and therefore due to the constant rise of fuel prices he had to leave his job at the Las Ventures 24/7.
A few months later he continued his Car rental service and found a part time job at the Z.I.P just a few miles down the road. He had also completely reshaped his appearance.

By this time and felt he was able to join the police force; he made an application and was called for an interview on the 4th of January 1987. Another co incidence that occurred on that day he got news that his father had passed away, therefore he failed to turn up to his interview and immediately went to his father?s funeral in SF.
This lead to several months of him being un-employed as he had already in the joy of becoming an officer resigned from Z.I.P.  Later he managed to successfully book his interview on the 6th of April 1987, the interviewer took his criminal offences with consideration and he successfully gained his job as a training officer, however, he was being looked on by the other officer?s very seriously one mistake and he?s out.

He gained his reputation over a period of months and now on this date 6th of October 1982 is no longer a stranger to the SAPD community he has been known to save a number of death and maintain peace within the city.
